HMCS Calgary Command Team Brunch — June 7, 2026
The new command team of HMCS Calgary joined Calgary Salutes committee members and supporters for a private working brunch at The Carriage House Inn, Calgary — the first face-to-face meeting between the ship's incoming leadership and the civilian committee ahead of the summer event season.
Committee returns from Esquimalt with renewed focus on Calgary Barn Burner
Friends of HMCS Calgary recently returned from Victoria and Esquimalt — a reminder that the relationship between Calgary and its namesake ship is not symbolic. It is active, personal, and worth showing up for. Now it is Calgary's turn.
Esquimalt Barn Burner Epic Weekend marks 31st anniversary of HMCS Calgary
Calgary Salutes joined HMCS Calgary and the Esquimalt community for the 31st anniversary of the ship's commissioning, May 22–24. The weekend included the Paris Sahlen Golf Tournament, the annual Barn Burner, an Orca Class day sail, and a Wardroom reception.
Tickets now on sale for Barn Burner Calgary 2026
Tickets are now available for the July 2 Barn Burner at The Commons at ATCO Park | Blue Flame Kitchen. The event supports the Firefighters Burn Society and Veterans Association Food Bank.

The Calgary Salutes Coordinating Committee has confirmed its 2026 event program. The Esquimalt Barn Burner Epic Weekend runs May 22–24 at CFB Esquimalt, British Columbia, marking the 31st anniversary of HMCS Calgary's commissioning. Calgary Barn Burner planning update
Planning is underway for the 2026 Calgary Barn Burner, confirmed for July 2 at The Commons at ATCO Park | Blue Flame Kitchen in Calgary. The event runs 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and is open to the public. Tickets will be available through the City of Calgary — check back here for the link.
