Applications open for Salute to Our Heroes memorial banners

North Calgary Branch No. 264 of The Royal Canadian Legion is inviting families, individuals, businesses and community organizations to help honour Veterans through its Salute to Our Heroes Veteran Memorial Banner Program.

Personalized banners are displayed along Kensington Road and 10 Street NW from October 1 through Remembrance Day. Each honoured Veteran is also included in the program’s online Virtual Memorial, helping preserve their story beyond the annual display.

Families and individuals can nominate and sponsor a Veteran. Businesses and community organizations can also support the program. The Branch advises that full or partial sponsorship assistance is available and that cost will not prevent a Veteran or family from participating.

The program is managed by Royal Canadian Legion North Calgary Branch No. 264. Calgary Salutes is sharing this community opportunity at the Branch’s request.
