The Calgary Salutes Coordinating Committee announces a significant leadership transition. Cynthia Wagner has been elected Chair of Friends of HMCS Calgary, effective February 11, 2026. Cindy assumes the role of Vice Chair and continues as the Calgary Salutes representative. Steve Armstrong steps down from his position after years of dedicated service.

Thank you, Steve Armstrong

Under Steve Armstrong's leadership, Friends of HMCS Calgary achieved remarkable results. The committee donated over $50,000 to community causes during the 2024–2025 term, including substantial contributions to the Children's Hospital Burn Unit and the Veterans Association Food Bank.

Steve's commitment to Calgary Salutes and the broader naval community has set a high standard for future leadership. His efforts in building relationships, securing funding, and organizing events have strengthened the connection between HMCS Calgary and the City of Calgary.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Steve for his service and welcome Cynthia Wagner as the new Chair.
