Calgary Salutes Coordinating Committee

The Calgary Salutes Coordinating Committee provides governance and coordination for Calgary Salutes subcommittees and related public activities.

Mandate

What this committee does.

The committee coordinates planning and support of local Canadian military ceremonial and community events.

Council members

The committee is chaired by Councillor DJ Kelly (Ward 4), appointed October 29, 2025. Councillor Landon Johnston serves as the second Council member.

Legal basis

Calgary Salutes is established by Bylaw 37M2025, passed June 24, 2025.

Role and accountability

The coordinating committee reports to Council through the Community Development Committee. It meets at least three times per year.

Subcommittee chairs sit as voting members of the coordinating committee.
